A town of Lewis man was charged late last week with illegally possessing firearms.
Lewis County sheriff's deputies say they visited 59 year old Deforest Flansburg's Kotary Road home with probation officers on Friday and found several five firearms.
Deputies say it's illegal for Flansburg to own the weapons because he's a convicted felon.
Deputies say they found three rifles, a shotgun, and a muzzle-loader in the home and two more rifles and a muzzle-loader at a nearby camp Flansburg owns.
He was charged with eight counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and was released to appear in Lewis town court at a later date.
