Lawyer: Golf Club Work Needs Environmental Study, Plan Approval

Posted: Updated:

No more improvements should be made to Watertown Golf Club until the plans are approved by the city and an environmental study is done.

Those words came Tuesday from P.J. Simao's lawyer in a letter to Mayor Joe Butler.

Simao, owner of Ives Hill Country Club, argues the city needs to treat Watertown Golf Club just like any other business as it goes through renovations, which include moving the club's septic system.

It was recently determined the septic system is on land that isn't included in the golf club's lease with Watertown and needs to be moved - thus Simao's call for an environmental study.
