State Route 812 Closed For Emergency Repairs Near Dadville

Posted: Updated:

Part of State Route 812 in the town of Lowville is closed in both directions due to what state officials are calling emergency repairs.

Mike Flick, spokesperson for the state Department of Transportation, said water has risen to the point that crews can no longer monitor a culvert near Dadville. He said the culvert might become unstable so the road was closed as a precaution.

State officials had announced Thursday that crews were scheduled to replace the culvert starting Friday afternoon.

The emergency closing was announced shortly after noon Friday.

The highway is closed between Ridge and Hopps roads.

The original plan was to detour traffic around the construction using state routes 26, 410, and 126.

Flick said the culvert replacement could take two to three months to complete.
