SLU String Orchestra Performs Two Spring Concerts

Over Two Weekends – Four Performances ALL FREE

Performances are

The St. Lawrence University String Orchestra, directed by Christian Hosmer, will perform their spring concerts on April 21 and 22 in Gouverneur and on campus.

The String Orchestra is joined by musicians from throughout the community to form a 60-piece symphony orchestra. They will present “A Tribute to Superheroes,” featuring exciting film music from Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, The Avengers, Captain America, and others.

The String Orchestra will perform from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, at the Gouverneur High School, 113 East Barney Street, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, at Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall. Both concerts are free and open to the public.

The following weekend they will perform a different Concert

The St. Lawrence University String Orchestra, directed by Christian Hosmer, will perform their spring concerts on April 28 and 29 on campus and in Massena.

The 60-member symphony orchestra including student, faculty and staff musicians from St. Lawrence and SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will perform well-known tunes made famous by The Beatles, Elton John, ABBA, Bill Haley, Josh Groban, Bob Seger, Lady Gaga, Radiohead, Queen, Journey, Imagine Dragons and others. This year, the orchestra will also feature young musicians from Canton, Potsdam, Madrid-Waddington and Massena high schools.

The String Orchestra will perform at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at St. Lawrence University’s Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall, and again at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29, at the Massena High School Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public.
