Highlights & Scores: Cracking The Wood In Lowville

Highlights & Scores: Cracking The Wood In Lowville

Posted: Updated:

Lowville began its four-team wooden-bat baseball tournament Tuesday, which gives high school ballplayers a chance to get away from aluminum and try out wood.

Highlights are in the video for both contests.

Holland Patent lead Carthage scoreless through six innings. The contest ended 6-2 Holland Patent.

In the other game, Bearer River squeaked by Lowville 4-3.

Despite the loss, Lowville is looking for good things this season.

Coach Dan Myers says one of those things is a sectional title.

"That's been the one thing that's kind of eluded this program for awhile, is that Section 3 title in baseball," the coach said.

You can hear more from the coach and players Brett Myers and Daniel Mayer in the video.

Also in the video are highlights from a pair of contests between St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton.

In baseball, it was the Roos over the Saints 9-7.

In women's college lacrosse, it was the Saints over the Roos 13-6.
