Celebrating 150 years as a city - a milestone for the city of Watertown
The city of Watertown came about on May 8, 1869.
To celebrate, city leaders encouraged families to explore the history of the city at the Flower Memorial Library where they have images on display of the city dating back the 1800s.
"I think it's wonderful that we've been here for 150 years. I actually love looking at the old pictures and seeing what we've grown into," said City Clerk Ann Saunders.
Other events the city is holding include a tree planting ceremony and an essay contest where kids from the community can write about what they think the city will be like in 150 years.
