A fifth-wheel camping trailer caught fire in Cape Vincent Tuesday morning.

The RV was parked off State Route 12E toward Clayton from Cape Vincent.

The fire was reported shortly before 10 a.m.

The trailer belongs to a woman who uses it as a summer home.

She was inside, but got out safely.

"There were flames out of the front of the trailer on the water side. She got out safely and the trailer was fully engulfed when we arrived on scene," said Tom Martilotta, former fire chief, Cape Vincent Fire Department.

Investigators will be looking into what caused the fire.
