Multiple Departments Respond To Fire In Town Of Croghan

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers from several fire departments were called to a home in the town of Croghan Monday afternoon.

A passerby spotted smoke at 12085 Mylady Road at around 2:30 p.m. and called 911.

Firefighters from Natural Bridge were first on the scene and found the den -- where the fire started -- and half the home full of smoke. Officials say "an aggressive interior attack" prevented further damage.

In the end there was minor fire damage, but extensive smoke and water damage to the home and contents.

A dog inside the home was rescued. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are working to find the cause.

Helping Natural Bridge were firefighters from Great Bend, Harrisville, Carthage, Rutland, Deferiet, Castorland and Tylerville were on the scene.
