Watertown firefighters called to Factory Street fire

Watertown firefighters quickly extinguished a fire on Factory Street Sunday evening.

WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A Factory Street building caught fire Sunday evening, apparently because of burning garbage.

The call came in shortly after 6 PM.

Watertown City Fire Department, Town of Watertown Fire, and city of Watertown Police arrived on scene where the flames went up the back of a building located between Mo’s Place and the New Roots Hair Studio.

Fire officials told 7 News someone was trying to burn their trash near the building when the fire got out of hand. The fire was extinguished by around 6:20 p.m.
